Psychology Today Profile.

A recent graduate, Kaye is intimately familiar with the challenges that face parents and caregivers of special needs children. As the parent of an adult daughter with autism who is nonverbal, Kaye has been passionately advocating for those within the disability community for over twenty years. While pursuing her Master's Degree in Counseling, she was the recipient of the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship which allowed her to provide online counseling services for parents of children with disabling conditions during COVID. She is a graduate of the Partners in Policymaking of Alabama program and a requested guest speaker for parent groups in rural areas. She frequently assists her clients by reviewing IEP/504 Plans.

Kaye started her career at Hillcrest Behavioral Health working with criminal offenders with psychosis and adolescents with behavioral challenges. She enjoys complicated challenges in the therapeutic setting. Her clients include individuals with disabling medical and mental health challenges and parents/caregivers. As a parent herself, she understands the exhaustion and overwhelming emotions that caregivers experience.

Kaye is currently employed at Behavioral ONE (Vestavia Hills) and Bevill & Associates (Birmingham) working with individual clients who are experiencing a multitude of challenges. She hosts groups both in-person and virtual.
